Eligibility Requirements:
1) Permanent Resident Status
Applicants must have permanent resident status in Canada and hold a valid PR card at the time of application.
2) Age
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
3) Residency
Applicants must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,460 days (four years) in the six years immediately before the date of their application. There are exceptions for time spent abroad for certain reasons, such as working for a Canadian employer or accompanying a Canadian spouse or partner.
4) Language Skills
Applicants must demonstrate a basic knowledge of English or French, Canada's two official languages. This can be done by providing evidence of language proficiency, such as a language test.
5) Knowledge of Canada
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of Canada's history, geography, political system, and values, as well as the rights and responsibilities of Canadian citizenship. This can be done by taking the Canadian citizenship test.
